Best known for films like The Death Factory, Colony, Man Against Nature, and, of course, Grimm, actor Damien Puckler deserves the attention of moviegoers, and if you still don’t know anything about him knew, we will try to fill these gaps.
Damien was born on April 10, 1972. His childhood and adulthood passed in a series of trips thanks to the craving for travel of his parents. But the birthplace of Packer was the Hessian province (Germany). However, the actor calls himself a “citizen of the whole world” while remaining true to his love of travel instilled in him from childhood.
Long before the start of his acting career, Damien had a car accident, after which he completely rethought his life. The recovery period was not long, but this time was enough to find out what he really wants from life. Martial arts and choreography became a logical step, after a long rehabilitation course. Having mastered the ancient Chinese martial art “Dim Mak”, as well as having won a black belt in karate, taekwondo and becoming the kickboxing world champion (which he was eventually forced to give up due to a hip injury), Parker decided not to stop there. He became a fitness trainer and began to teach exercises developed according to his own methodology. But a really significant milestone in the life of an athlete was working in the cinema as a stuntman. It is worth noting that the movie career Damien dreamed of since childhood, and now the dream was getting closer and closer to him.
He enlisted the support of friends and enrolled in a drama school in London. There, he finally fell in love with theater and the art of cinema. Later, in an interview with Amazing Stories Magazine, he described his love of cinema: “… this is a great way to try yourself in a variety of forms …!”
With a great desire to act in films, in 2007 Damien moved to Los Angeles. Initially, he began as a stuntman, but this work gave Damien an opportunity, got acquainted closely with the backstage life and a movie production machine called Hollywood. In parallel, he attended the American Academy of Dramatic Art in Los Angeles, where he replenished his piggy bank with the necessary acting knowledge and skills.
His career as a professional actor began in 2000, when he debuted in a cameo role in the film “The Man Who Cried.” After that, over the course of 8 years, several transitional roles were played in the low-budget films Nautilus: Lord of the Ocean, Let’s Roll: The Story of Flight 93, 666: The Number of the Beast, Journey to the Land of Dinosaurs, and Deadly Racing “. As you might guess, these were far from masterpieces, and Damien could not get the opportunity to open up like a real actor.
As a television actor, Damien became widely known for his roles as Martin Meisner in the series “Grimm” and captain William Hunter in the fantastic television show “Starfall”. Participation in the series “Grimm”, Damien owes a lot to his brother Bjorn, who for some time acted as his manager and arranged for him to audition for one of the roles in the project. “They were looking for an actor for a small role in several episodes with a couple of replicas in German and possessing some sports skills for building fighting scenes and tricks,” recalls the actor. This was ideal for Damien – martial arts were once a part of his life, and mastery of the German language was not an obstacle either. As a result, from the mini-role for his character, the script was significantly rewritten, where he received the full 13 episodes in the first season, after which in all subsequent ones. Packer’s tanned naked torso became a decisive factor among the many fans of the series who were simply crazy about his character Martin Meisner. Fans even created a Facebook fan group called “We Want More Sexy Meisner,” which in a matter of weeks gathered an army of thousands of followers that the creators of the series could not ignore. After that, Damien tasted the fruits of true fame: “I was not given access by the paparazzi, I had to answer hundreds of letters from fans a day in which some offered me a hand and heart, and some wanted a child from me. It was very unusual. But most importantly, I began to receive offers to star in really good film projects. ”
Preferences and Hobbies
At present, martial arts have become just a hobby for Damien, he also loves the comedic quintet of the 50s “The Marx Brothers” and is a fan of the Spider-Man franchise. Love for the latter, became the reason for the appearance of a huge spider tattoo on his chest.
